A one-day training and awareness program was successfully organized at Chitawa, Didwana-Kuchaman, under the Aroma Mission Project Phase III. The event aimed to educate farmers about the cultivation and benefits of medicinal plants, with a special focus on Tulsi.
Mr. Vinod Fogawat from CSIR-IIIM, Jammu, addressed 35 participating farmers, providing valuable insights into the types, uses, and technical aspects of Tulsi and other medicinal plants. The program was supervised by Dr. Siya Ram Meena, Agronomist at IIIM, Jammu.
As part of the event, a live demonstration on Tulsi crop cultivation was conducted, offering practical guidance to the farmers. Additionally, 6 kg of improved Tulsi seeds were distributed to interested participants, encouraging the adoption of sustainable practices in medicinal plant cultivation.
The program highlighted the significance of aromatic and medicinal plants in enhancing farmers’ incomes and promoting agro-based entrepreneurship, in line with the objectives of the Aroma Mission.
