Farmers Field Visit and Two Day QPM Distribution Program on MAPs (Ocimum Cultivation) conducted at Nangthala, Hisar on 03/10/2024 & 04/10/2024

Team Aroma recently visited farmers’ fields in Nangthala, Kuleri, Kirmara, and surrounding areas, actively promoting the cultivation of Ocimum (Tulsi) under the CSIR Aroma Mission Phase III. This initiative is part of Team Aroma’s ongoing efforts to support farmers in adopting profitable, sustainable agricultural practices.

Program Highlights:

  • Beneficial Insights: Team Aroma shared valuable information with farmers on the benefits and market potential of Ocimum cultivation, emphasizing its profitability and the growing demand for basil in both domestic and international markets.
  • Soil and Plant Sample Collection: To provide tailored guidance, soil and plant samples were collected from farmers’ fields for analysis and recommendations, ensuring that the right interventions are made for optimal growth.
  • Hands-on Training: Practical, hands-on demonstrations on Ocimum cultivation techniques were conducted, equipping farmers with the knowledge and skills necessary to improve their crop yields and farming practices.
  • Free Seed Distribution: In support of the farmers’ efforts, 15 kg of high-quality Ocimum seeds were distributed free of cost, encouraging them to start or expand their basil cultivation.

By providing expert guidance and resources, Team Aroma is helping farmers increase their productivity while contributing to the sustainability of their livelihoods. This program is another step towards empowering.
