CSIR-IIIM, JAMMU

On 18 September 2025, under Aroma Mission Phase-3, CSIR-IIIM Jammu organized a one-day training program at village Dhyarhi, Block Dhauladevi, District Almora, Uttarakhand. The program brought together representatives from eight Gram Panchayats of the area, including their elected heads and members of the Block Panchayat, ensuring broad community-level participation.

The main objective of the program was to provide information about the benefits of cultivation and industrialization of medicinal and aromatic plants such as rosemary, lavender, etc. During the training, detailed discussions were held with the Panchayat heads on the potential of these crops, their growing demand in the market, and their contribution to the economic upliftment of farmers.

The aim of this initiative was to equip Gram Panchayat representatives with knowledge of the schemes so that they could create awareness among farmers in Gram Sabhas, guide them effectively, and ensure successful implementation of such programs.
