CSIR-IIIM, JAMMU
On 23 September 2025, a training program on medicinal and aromatic plants was organized in the Gram Panchayats of Kafli and Bhainsari, Block Dhaula Devi, Almora district, Uttarakhand, under CSIR–IIIM Jammu’s Aroma Mission Phase–III, in collaboration with the Agriculture Department.
The program focused on the cultivation of crops like rosemary and lavender, offering farmers practical knowledge on modern farming practices, processing techniques, and market prospects. Experts highlighted the potential of these crops to boost farm income while promoting sustainable agriculture in the region.
Over 15 farmers attend the programe. Farmers took part enthusiastically, showing interest in adopting aromatic and medicinal plants on their farms. This joint initiative of the Agriculture Department and CSIR–IIIM Jammu is expected to create new opportunities for commercialization, industrial use, and livelihood enhancement in rural Uttarakhand.
