CSIR-IIIM, JAMMU
On October 5, 2025, under the CSIR-IIIM Jammu Aroma Mission Phase-III, a farmer training program was organized at Gram Panchayat Himni, Block Dewal, District Chamoli, uttarakhand. The program aimed to promote the cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants such as rosemary and lavender in the region. Experts from CSIR-IIIM Jammu provided valuable insights on scientific cultivation practices, post-harvest management, and industrial prospects of these crops. Farmers were educated about the economic advantages, employment opportunities, and sustainable farming benefits associated with aromatic plant cultivation. The session included live demonstrations and interactive discussions to encourage participation. The event proved to be highly beneficial in motivating farmers toward adopting high-value aromatic crops, thereby contributing to income generation and rural development under the Aroma Mission initiative.
