On 30 October 2025, a comprehensive farmer training program was organized in Village Gamdir, situated in Dunda Tehsil of Uttarkashi District, Uttarakhand, under the Aroma Mission Phase-III of CSIR–IIIM Jammu. The objective of this program was to build awareness and enhance farmer knowledge about the cultivation, development, and commercialization of medicinal and aromatic plants, with a special focus on high-value crops such as rosemary, lavender, and other aromatic species suitable for the region’s climate and soil conditions.

During the session, experts provided detailed guidance on scientific cultivation practices, including land preparation, nursery management, irrigation techniques, pest and disease management, and post-harvest processes. Farmers were also introduced to the scope of establishing value-addition units, essential oil extraction, and developing market linkages for aromatic crops.
