The CSIR–Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM) successfully organized a Lavender QPM (Quality Planting Material) Distribution Program at Thopal, Batote and Ukhral-Pogal in District Ramban under the CSIR Aroma Mission. The program was conducted on 10th January 2026 and 11th January 2026 with the objective of promoting lavender cultivation in the region and enhancing farmers’ income through high-value aromatic crops. During the programme, a total of 23,800 lavender plants of high-quality planting material were distributed.
The planting material was provided to 12 progressive farmers selected from the target areas, enabling them to establish or expand their lavender fields. This initiative is expected to support livelihood diversification, promote sustainable agriculture, and strengthen the aromatic plant value chain in the hilly regions of Ramban. The distribution drive reflects CSIR-IIIM’s continued commitment under the Aroma Mission to empower farmers with scientific interventions, quality inputs, and market-linked aromatic crop cultivation.
