Lavender distribution program in the villages of Uttarakhand from 05.02.2026 to 06.02.2026.

CSIR-IIIM,JAMMU

The CSIR-IIIM Jammu, under the Aroma Mission Phase 3, organized a successful Lavender distribution program from 05 February 2026 to 06 February 2026 in the villages of Uttarakhand. A total of 90,000 lavender plants were distributed across six villages, benefiting local farmers and promoting sustainable agriculture. The initiative aimed to enhance lavender cultivation in the region, providing farmers with an opportunity to diversify their income through this high-value crop.

As part of the program, 14,000 lavender plants were distributed in Sundarkhal village, located in the Dhari block of Nainital district, to 11 farmers. Similarly, another 14,000 plants were provided to 13 farmers in the Kunjagunth village, located in the Dhaula Devi block of Almora district. The remaining plants were distributed among farmers in the villages of Bhagartola, Papgarh, Chamuvakhalsa, and Kafli in Almora district, benefiting a total of 45 farmers. This initiative is expected to improve the economic prospects of the local farmers while promoting the sustainable cultivation of lavender in Uttarakhand.
