Awareness program organized at Village Papoli, Block Dhauladevi, in District Almora, Uttarakhand on 21-09-2025.

CSIR-IIIM, JAMMU

The CSIR–Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM), Jammu, organized an awareness program under Aroma Mission Phase-III on 21 September 2025 at Papoli Village, Block Dhauladevi, District Almora, Uttarakhand. The program aimed to educate farmers on the cultivation and processing of high-value medicinal and aromatic crops such as rosemary and lavender, highlighting their economic, environmental, and livelihood benefits. Over 50 participants attended the session.

Experts discussed agro-climatic suitability, commercial demand, and opportunities for rural entrepreneurship, emphasizing the potential for income generation and market linkages at both domestic and international levels. Farmers were also informed about ongoing schemes under the Aroma Mission to help them adopt scientific cultivation practices and make informed decisions.The initiative is expected to empower farmers, strengthen the local economy, and contribute to effective grassroots implementation of the mission.
