Under the Aroma Mission Phase III of CSIR–Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu, a Rosemary Plant Distribution Program was successfully conducted from 14 February 2026 to 15 February 2026 in villages of Uttarakhand. The programme was organized to promote the cultivation of aromatic crops and enhance farmers’ income through the introduction of high-value medicinal and aromatic plants like rosemary.
During the programme, a total of 105,000 Quality Planting Material (QPM) rosemary plants were distributed among 67 farmers, covering a total area of 7.5 hectares across 9 villages in four districts of the state. The distribution included 3 villages in Blocks Jakhanidhar and Ghansali, District Tehri Garhwal; 2 villages in Block Bhatwari, District Uttarkashi; 3 villages in Block Pokhda, District Pauri Garhwal; and 1 village in Block Augustyamuni, District Rudraprayag.
The programme was completed successfully with active participation from farmers and local stakeholders. The distribution of quality rosemary planting material will help expand aromatic crop cultivation, improve farmers’ livelihoods, and support sustainable agricultural development in the hill regions under Aroma Mission Phase III.
