CSIR-IIIM,JAMMU

On 27–28 March 2026, under Aroma Mission Phase 3 of CSIR-IIIM Jammu, a successful distribution of Rosemary planting material was carried out across 7 villages in Uttarakhand, covering 5 villages in Block Dhouladevi (District Almora) and 2 villages in Blocks Dhari and Ramgarh (District Nainital), with the objective of promoting aromatic crop cultivation and strengthening farmers’ livelihoods.

The initiative covered a total area of 9.5 hectares, under which approximately 133,000 high-quality (QPM) Rosemary plants were distributed to farmers, along with technical guidance on scientific cultivation practices, crop management, and the economic potential of Rosemary farming.

Approximately 84 farmers participated in and benefited from the programme, reflecting a growing inclination toward aromatic crops in the region. The initiative is expected to contribute significantly to sustainable agriculture and income enhancement in Uttarakhand.
