Awareness cum training program organized at Saidpura, Uchain, Bharatpur, Rajasthan on 27-07-2024

Under Aroma Mission Phase-III, CSIR IIIM Jammu organized Awareness cum Training Programme. The Aroma Mission aims to promote the cultivation, processing, and marketing of aromatic plants across India. As part of this initiative, a training and awareness program was conducted on July 27, 2024, at Saidpura, Uchchain block, Bharatpur district, Rajasthan.
The event gathered 100 farmers, both male and female, who were introduced to the scientific cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants, with a particular focus on Ocimum species. The program highlighted the benefits of aromatic plants, including their potential to enhance farmers’ income.

The programme featured sessions by experts in the field of aromatic plants, including scientists from CSIR-IIIM. Key Speakers include Sh. RadhaRaman Sharma (Assistant Director, Agriculture, Bharatpur), Sh. Janak Raj Meena (Deputy Director, Horticulture, Bharatpur), Sh. Yogesh Kumar Sharma (Joint Director, Horticulture, Bharatpur), and Dr. Nawab Singh (Head, KVK, Kumher, Bharatpur). They shared valuable insights into the cultivation techniques, processing methods, and market opportunities for aromatic plants under the Aroma Mission.
Participants were provided with farmer kits at registration, and refreshments, including tea and lunch, were served. The event was effectively coordinated by Dr. Siya Ram Meena (Senior Technical Officer) and Mr. Vinod Fogawat, Project Associate, ensuring a smooth and informative experience for all attendees. The program emphasized the potential of aromatic plants to contribute to sustainable agriculture and rural development.
