CSIR-IIIM Jammu organized an awareness cum training programme in Karauli, Rajasthan, as part of the Aroma Mission Phase III on 2 August 2024. This initiative aims to boost the cultivation and processing of aromatic plants like lavender, rosemary, lemongrass, mint and ocimum (Tulsi), in the region, enhancing farmers’ incomes and promoting sustainable agriculture.
The event, attended by 92 farmers, agricultural experts, researchers, and organizational representatives, featured educational sessions and practical demonstrations. Experts from CSIR-IIIM shared insights on cultivation practices, pest management, and the economic benefits of aromatic plants. Hands-on demonstrations and interactive discussions helped farmers understand advanced techniques and market opportunities.
The sessions were designed to be interactive, allowing farmers to ask questions and clarify doubts, ensuring they left with a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. The programme was effectively coordinated by Dr. Siya Ram Meena (Senior Technical Officer) and Mr. Vinod Fogawat, Project Associate, ensuring a very informative experience for all attendees.
