On 5th August 2024, the CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM), Jammu, organized an Awareness cum Training Program in the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), at Maulasar, Kuchaman, Rajasthan. This event, held under the guidance of the Aroma Mission Project Phase III, aimed to empower local farmers and practitioners with knowledge and skills to advance aromatic plant cultivation and utilization.
The programme aims to train farmers and local practitioners in new methodologies and technologies. Experts from CSIR IIIM Jammu conducted sessions on advanced farming techniques, including precision farming, organic farming, and water management practices.By integrating modern scientific methods with traditional practices, the initiative aimed to foster a sustainable, health-focused approach to agriculture and rural development. The program’s success underscores the importance of ongoing education and training in driving long-term progress in rural communities.
The event, attended by 80 farmers, agricultural experts, researchers, and organizational representatives, featured educational sessions and practical demonstrations. Interactive session where participants could engage with experts, ask questions, and discuss their challenges and experiences. The programme was effectively coordinated by Dr. Siya Ram Meena (Senior Technical Officer) and Mr. Vinod Fogawat, Project Associate, ensuring a very informative experience for all attendees.
Through these initiatives, the Aroma Mission seeks to empower rural communities, promote sustainable agricultural practices, and boost the local economy by tapping into the growing demand for aromatic and medicinal plants.
