Awareness cum training program organized at Lakhanpur, Datia, Madhya Pradesh on 8-08-2024

The CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM) organized a training-cum-awareness program on August 8, 2024, at Lakhanpur, Datia, Madhya Pradesh. The event was held under the CSIR Aroma Mission-III, focusing on catalyzing rural empowerment through the cultivation, processing, value addition, and marketing of aromatic crops.
A total of 83 farmers attended the program, demonstrating strong interest in learning about the opportunities presented by aromatic crops. The event aimed to educate and empower these farmers by providing them with the necessary knowledge and skills to improve their livelihoods through the cultivation of aromatic plants.
The training covered various aspects, including the selection of suitable aromatic crops for the region, best practices in cultivation, techniques for processing and adding value to the crops, and strategies for effective marketing. The experts from CSIR-IIIM emphasized the economic potential of aromatic crops and how they can contribute to rural development by creating new income sources.
Farmers were also informed about the support available under the CSIR Aroma Mission, including access to quality planting material, technical guidance, and market linkages. The program concluded with an interactive session where farmers could ask questions and discuss their concerns with the experts.
This initiative is a part of CSIR’s ongoing efforts to boost rural economies and promote sustainable agriculture by leveraging the unique potential of aromatic crops.
