Awareness cum training program organized at Bamanpara, Sikandra Rajasthan on 7-08-2024

On August 7th, 2024, a one-day program was held in Bamanpara, Sikandra, Rajasthan, under the Aroma Mission Project Phase III. The event was organized by the CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM), Jammu. The primary focus of the program was on the cultivation of Ocimum, commonly known as basil, and the marketing of its essential oil.
The Aroma Mission Project aims to boost the cultivation of aromatic plants and enhance the production of essential oils in India. This initiative is particularly significant for regions like Rajasthan, where the climate and soil conditions are favorable for aromatic plant cultivation.
During the program, experts from CSIR-IIIM Jammu shared valuable insights on various aspects of Ocimum cultivation. They discussed advanced agricultural practices, soil management, and pest control techniques to ensure healthy and high-yield crops. The sessions were designed to provide farmers with practical knowledge and skills to optimize their farming practices.

The event, attended by 80 farmers, agricultural experts, researchers, and organizational representatives, featured educational sessions and practical demonstrations.The programme was effectively coordinated by Dr. Siya Ram Meena (Senior Technical Officer) and Mr. Vinod Fogawat, Project Associate, ensuring a very informative experience for all attendees.
