The CSIR IIIM Jammu organized Awareness cum Training Programme at Piprakothi village in Bihar on 29-07-2024 as part of its ongoing Aroma Mission. This initiative aims to promote the cultivation and processing of aromatic plants, empowering farmers and entrepreneurs with the necessary skills and knowledge to participate in this growing sector.
The primary objective of the programme were to educate participants about the potential economic benefits of cultivating aromatic plants and to provide hands-on training in the cultivation, harvesting, processing, and value addition of aromatic crops.
The programme featured sessions by experts in the field of aromatic plants, including scientists from CSIR .The Awareness cum Training Programme received an enthusiastic response from participants, who expressed their appreciation for the valuable information and training provided. Many participants expressed interest in starting or expanding their cultivation of aromatic plants, encouraged by the support and resources offered by CSIR.
By empowering farmers and entrepreneurs with the knowledge and tools needed to succeed in this sector, the Aroma Mission aims to create economic opportunities and enhance livelihoods.
