Training program conducted by CSIR-IIM under Aroma Mission Phase-III in different villages of district Gariaband and Mahasamund of Chhattisgarh State by the Scientific Official, Technical Officer and Project Staffs of CSIR-IIIM, Jammu on 09-10.2023 to 18-10-2023.

The objectives of the program were training of farmers for cultivation of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants focusing on Lemongrass (CKP-25) and Rosagrass (CN-5).

Practical demonstrations of extraction of essential oil of lemongrass, agronomic practices and propagation of the lemongrass slips in the field shown to the farmers by the official of CSIR-IIIM, Jammu.

The officials explained the cultivation of crop from lab to land and from land to market aspects were well explained guaranteeing the technical support to be provided in future endeavor.  The Benefit differences were also explained among MAPs, cereals, horticultural crops and how the latest Agrotechnology of intercropping of MAPs with silviculture, honey bees, animal husbandry and fisheries could be done along with Lemongrass and Rosagrass.
